  1. Hello Kajal,
In my opinion, the Colin Kaepernick controversy is a solid two-sided argument. Even though many people took Colin Kaepernick’s side, he was ultimately the one who felt the repercussions of the dispute. I often wonder if he was aware of the consequences that would follow his actions before he chose to protest.

  2. Kajel,
Great presentation! I feel as if this situation is very two-sided and can make everyone have a opinion on it. I dont think that Kaepernick was aware of what could happen to his reputation and his actions when protesting.

  3. Kajal,
The Colin Kaepernick situation is a huge controversy between people to this day. Some feel that by kneeling during the National Anthem that he was disrespecting the country, while others feel that it took bravery to finally bring attention to this issue in such a way. I also agree with Gregory- I am not sure if Kaepernick knew what would happen to his career after the act.

  4. Hello, Kajal. Your definition of social media etiquette was very interesting. I had never heard it explained in that manner. I agree that you have to be careful about who you follow, who follows you, and what you post on social media.

  5. Hi Kajal, I agree that it is important to be polite while using social media. Being rude online can cause people to get the wrong impression of you. I also agree that Colin Kaepernick could have gotten his message across better by having a press conference or releasing an announcement. Great job!

  6. Kajal,
This controversy was a very big example of so many split sides on an argument! It was all that people were talking about at the time. Aside from this, it is very important to conduct yourself with respect and dignity while online.

  7. Kajal, I think that the Kaepernick situation was very two-sided and both sides could be argued. You presented great information on the subject.

  8. Great example. We always mention that we should show our respect to others, even they don't respect us because it is our politeness. I think it is okay to bring up the topic on social media to catch people's eyes on how to treat people of color fairly. However, it was not the right way to solve the problem by not standing up while the national anthem was being played. What he did didn't help with the issue he cared about. Great presentation, thanks!

  9. Hi Kajal,

I think we should always respect others, but I believe it was a form of protest. It got people attention both negatively and positively. There are arguments for both, but I believe he knew exactly what he was doing, and does not regret doing what he did for his protest. I like this a lot!!

  10. Kapernick also tweeted pictures of socks depicting police officers as pigs and used his publicity as an NFL player to get attention. This is something that could have been seen as bad etiquette but it only helped him in the end. While his movement may have taken off as he became GQ Man of the Year and made money off his Nike advertisement, he settled his law suit with the NFL in the end.

  11. Hi,
I am an avid football fan so I was happy to see you doing your presentation on Colin. I do agree with another student that this controversy had a solid stance on both sides but Colin was ultimately the one who lost his job and hasn't returned to the NFL since. I think Kaepernick stood up for something that he believes in and was punished for that. But I think that you showcased his case very well in your presentation! Good work.

  12. Some people do not understand why they protest. I believe he did and understood any consequence that would follow. It's controversial. He followed his beliefs and didn't waiver from that. His belief was stronger than the dollar. I enjoyed your presentation.

  13. I agree that this situation is difficult because so many public figures went to social media to either agree with or disagree with this issue. I think you did a good job with the presentation being that the topic is still controversial.

  14. Hi!
I am not really into football and so I haven't really read much into this topic. But I do know this is a highly controversial topic! What I think is crazy is that this is still something highly debated right now!

  15. Kajal, this is of course a very touchy situation and it could get very nasty in the media. Usually you take the side of whatever politics you align with regarding this Kaepernick situation which is very sad because people can't sit back and decide for themselves what they believe and how they should feel about it. Great presentation!

  16. Hey Kajal,
This topic has gotten a lot of attention over the past couple years. It is a VERY sensitive issue when discussed with people. He caused a chain reaction of protests from other players.

  17. Hi Kajal,
I enjoyed your perspective about the controversy with Colin and the NFL. This whole mess was especially noteworthy due to the domino effect it had with other entities and individuals. At the end of the day, I feel like he could have handled the situation better, but he did make his point.

  18. Hello Kajal,
This is certainly a debate among many people and often times people will take one side or the other on this issue. Kaepernick had a very strong stance on this and he took to social media to make it known. Issues like this are important to be discussed because without it there would be no change. Kaepernick is a great example of freedom of speech and having the right to stand up for what you believe is right.

  19. Hello Kajal,
I really liked viewing your presentation, as I have not heard of this before today! The circumstance definitely could have been avoided or even handled differently. It was inappropriate for these actions to pursue in the way they had.

  20. Hi Kajal,
You presented social media etiquette really well. I think Colin's situation is very controversial because it is in fact a two-sided argument. I'm not completely sure if the situation should have been handled differently. It's a very sensitive topic that everyone is still trying to process and understand. Good job on taking a difficult matter and thanks for sharing it!
